Sox and Cards in 7 each. Houston has the pitching to hang with the Cards and Anaheim has played the Sox well this year. Even though the Angels have had back-to-back cross country flights, I wouldn't be shocked if they won game 1.
And let me add how pleasant it is that not only don't we have to stomach another Yankees-Red Sox series, but we don't have to put up with either one. Nobody was more surprised than the folks at ESPN that in spite of this tragedy, baseball will continue with its postseason as scheduled.

I couldn't agree more. GO SOX!!!
Jerry - what is your take on the controversial play during the bottom of the 9th in Game #2?
Just my two cents - only a part of the blame goes to the home plate umpire for his error - the Angel catcher has to accept some responsibility, too. Whenever a catcher blocks a third strike close to or at the dirt, he needs to throw to first base just to be sure. Borderline play - don't assume that the play will go in your favor.
Also, the Angels' bullpen was nearly depleted; the White Sox' was at full strength with Mark B. going nine innings. With the Sox at home, I think their chances of winning the game in extras would have been better than 50-50. Of course, this is moot.
Just posted it.
