The White Sox lead is down to 2.5 games over Cleveland, which is currently in town to face the Sox. The Indians won 7-5 last night after newly anointed closer Bobby Jenks blew his first save. The Sox and Indians face each other five more times. Tonight, tomorrow and three in Cleveland to end the season Sept 30-Oct 2. In between, the Sox host Minnesota and play at Detroit, while Cleveland goes to KC and hosts Tampa.
Come to think of it, that season ending series will probably be irrelevant. The Indians will have clinched by then.

FYI, the '95 Angels were up 12 1/2 on August 20. They proceeded to go 12-25 while Seattle went 25-13. The M's won the one-game playoff sending the Angels packing.
The '05 White Sox actually aren't playing that badly as of late. They have been 22-24 since Aug 1. Not great, but not horrible, either. Statistically, the Indians are just a better team than the White Sox. The Indians are first in ERA, fourth in runs scored - they may be the best team in the AL this year. FWIW, the ChiSox are fourth in ERA, eighth in runs scored. Other than Paul Konerko, what ChiSox hitter really puts fear in the hearts of opposing pitchers?!?!
Konerko doesn't even scare me, but I'm also not an opposing pitcher.
ESPN is reporting Ozzie Guillen may quit.
